CVA’s Lovelady Tosses a No-Hitter

Whit Lovelady had a big day all around, and the Coosa Valley Academy Rebel baseball team swept a doubleheader from Chambers Academy, 7-4 and 13-0.
Game 2 was a big one for Lovelady as he tossed a no-hitter on the mound, and added a pair of hits in a 13-0 victory. In Game 1, Lovelady drove in a pair of runs with a double to support winning pitcher Gage Holmes, who struck out four.
Offensive heroes were plentiful in each game for the Rebels (16-17). Ricky Ellison finished the night with two hits, including a two-run home run, and two runs scored. J.B. Ripley had a pair of hits, scoring three runs.
