Greene named Dothan Eagle coach of the year

After winning just two games in 2005, expectations weren’t very high at Geneva County.
Greene felt the Bulldogs would be improved, but even he was surprised at his team nearly pulling off a double-digit win season and one of the biggest turnarounds in the state, going from 2-8 to 9-2 and making the playoffs.
“I thought we might win six or seven games and those six-seven games would be nailbitter games that we would have to fight for every week,” Greene said.
“To dream nine wins was unthinkable, but I did feel we would be competitive and had an outside shot of making the playoffs. Things went our way and we exceeded those expectations.”
